Advancing Broadband for New Jersey

Welcome to the New Jersey broadband assessment program. It is vitally important that each citizen in New Jersey have access to high-speed internet services.

High-speed internet opens new options for medical care, easier access to government programs, and enhanced opportunities for economic development.

We are glad you chose to visit the site and encourage you to take the speed test and survey. If you are on your cell phone or not at your home or work in New Jersey, please click the “continue to survey” button only. Otherwise, we highly encourage you to take the speed test!

By participating in this survey, you will help us understand more about issues related to internet availability in your community. It will also help us achieve our goal of 100% access to high-speed internet service state-wide.

Thank you for your help!

The Survey has a Speed Test Component

It is recommended to close other open browser tabs to ensure the most accurate measurement.

You will be prompted with a question asking where you are taking the survey from. If you select online from the address above, you will be automatically directed to a speed test. Once complete you will be directed back to the survey.

How This Site Works

There are three parts to this site.

The frequently asked questions and the about us page provide more information about this project, the benefits to you and where you live and work, and the team supporting the project.

The speed test measures how fast your internet connection is from your home or business. This part takes about a minute or so to complete. If you are not at your home or business located in New Jersey, or if you are taking the survey on your cell phone, then please skip the speed test.

The survey is a series of questions, for either home or business, which asks about whether a respondent has internet access, and how they use it (or would use it). This part takes about seven to ten minutes.

Need More Information?

There are multiple places on this site, including the survey, that allow you to express your opinion or ask questions. You can reach out to us via the Contact Us page that has a form to complete.

Within the survey itself, there are opportunities for you to provide, in an anonymous manner, direct feedback to the State regarding internet availability and affordability. We want to hear from you!
